Today, I will talk about the finishing surface treatment of the Rapid prototyping, and we will understand it together.

At present, manual grinding and polishing is still the main way to finish the complex die surface treatment of manual plate in our country. However, for the complex cavity of manual plate model and some slit surface processing, the traditional processing method is no longer capable, and electrochemical machining or electrochemical mechanical finishing must be adopted.
The surface treatment technology of manual compound die finishing and polishing mainly has two parts: traditional finishing and non-traditional finishing.
The traditional finishing technology is mainly manual grinding and polishing and the mechanical finishing which has been developed at present, and the traditional finishing technology mainly includes chemical polishing, electrolytic grinding, electrochemical mechanical finishing, ultrasonic machining, magnetorheological polishing, laser polishing and electric spark polishing etc..
1, manual grinding and polishing
The method requires no special equipment and has strong adaptability.
It depends on the operator's experience and skill level.
It is inefficient (about 1/3 of the cycle time of the entire model).
And the labor intensity of workers is high, the quality is not stable, which restricts the processing of hand plate composite die to a higher level.
However, in the light of current socio-economic and technological developments, this treatment cannot be completely eliminated.
2, digital hand polishing machine
The polishing tool adopts digital control, digital display and process parameter control, equipped with a full set of grinding head and abrasive, semi-automatic polishing, has the advantages of small volume, easy to use, stable quality, good repeatability and so on.
Scope of application: A, material: all kinds of manual plate, including cast steel, forged steel, aluminum alloy, zinc alloy.
B, Rapid prototyping surface size: 100×100(mm)-1,500×3,000(mm).
3, ultrasonic hand polishing machine
The polishing tool was polished by high frequency electric spark pulse power supply and ultrasonic fast vibration grinding principle.
It can finish the polishing of serrated parts such as narrow slit, edge and Angle. It is difficult to get into the general polishing tools (electric grinding soft shaft, etc.).

The tool can be used to polish rough surfaces, not limited by the shape of the workpiece and the hardness of the material, the original surface roughness is not required, high efficiency.

Compared with EDM, high speed milling can save 25%-60% of machining time.
The surface quality of high speed milling is good, which can avoid the surface speckle which may appear in the EDM.
High speed milling can process 45-60 HRC hard surface.
Finishing milling surface roughness Ra=0.63mm, can reduce the time of manual polishing;
The manufacturing process of working electrode can significantly shorten the molding cycle.
5. Electrochemistry and electrochemical machining
Electrochemical composite polishing technology mainly depends on the principle of electrochemical anode dissolution of metal workpiece, which belongs to ion removal technology.
Due to non-contact processing, deformation layer, metamorphic layer and residual stress is not processed, the tool has no wear, can be used for a long time, no burr and burr.
The service life of electrochemical machining is more than 5 times longer than that of conventional super finishing machining.
